Job Announcement: Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Climate Change Adaptation (flooding, heat island effect) & Digital Twin
Green Infrastructure Engineering Lab, Seoul National University
The Green Infrastructure Engineering Lab at Seoul National University is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the field of climate change adaptation and digital twin technology.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will join our dynamic research team to work on innovative projects related to climate change adaptation and the development of digital twin solutions for sustainable urban environments. The postdoctoral researcher will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in green infrastructure engineering and its application in the context of a changing climate.
Responsibilities:
Conduct research on climate change adaptation strategies, with a focus on the integration of green infrastructure.
Develop and implement digital twin models to simulate and optimize urban environments for enhanced resilience.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address complex challenges related to sustainable urban development.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Strong background in climate change adaptation, green infrastructure engineering, Low Impact Development, digital twin technology, or AI-driven modeling and analysis.
Demonstrated expertise in developing and applying AI algorithms, machine learning models, and digital twin technologies to urban planning and sustainability.
Proficient in relevant modeling and simulation tools, which may include CFD programs (e.g., STAR-CCM+), SWMM, Arc-GIS, as well as programming languages and platforms such as Python, R, MATLAB, and TensorFlow.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
Track record of scholarly publications in reputable journals, especially those related to artificial intelligence applications in environmental and urban systems, is a plus.
Term and Compensation:
The position is initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal.
The starting date is negotiable as per the candidate's availability.
Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and career stage.
